Area of Specialization with Elective Units.
This is officially defined as "a group of courses selected in consultation with the student's Academic Guidance Committee and Faculty Adviser to complement the student's Nutrition program in accord with the chosen career orientation."
At least 6 upper division undergraduate or graduate level elective units beyond the core requirements should make up the Area of Specialization. These courses are to be selected in consultation with the student’s major professor and graduate advisor to compliment the chosen nutrition research focus area. Several areas of emphasis are listed below for your convenience and for illustrative purposes only. They certainly should not be considered an exhaustive listing. Your major professor, in concurrence with your Graduate Advisor, can help you identify a specific area of emphasis and courses that best suit your academic and career goals.
