Research Interests
Dr. Steinberg’s research program studies foods and food components that impact human obesity-related health outcomes and nutritional phenotypes. Her work focuses on evaluating health biomarkers and physiologic impact of food bioactives (such as polyphenols) on metabolic pathways and mechanisms related to cardiovascular and gut health. She is interested in human nutrition interventions that modulate lipoproteins and inflammatory pathways to reduce chronic disease risk.
